I love the idea of hosting an outdoor dinner party. It sounds so exciting to bring out the best dishes and set up a stunning tablescape in the backyard. There, you and your guests can enjoy nature while dining in style. It’s outdoor entertaining at its finest!
I’m in a phase of my life where I have little kids running around. Because of this, I probably wouldn’t bust out my fine china for a dinner party. But I can still enjoy the idea of it, and maybe when my kids are less rowdy, I’ll invite some friends over and create a gorgeous setup for them.

My mom watched my kids while I put together this outdoor entertaining setup – just for fun! I started with an outdoor tablecloth that I thrifted for $2.99. The pattern is reminiscent of a William Morris design. I had been searching online for an outdoor tablecloth that I liked, but to no avail. The local thrift store came through with this beautiful find!

My jute placemats were too big to use one for each place setting. So, I laid out two in the middle of the table and each place setting pair “shares” a placemat. That way I could still get the texture I wanted without overlapping all of the placemats.

Instead of my trusty Blue Willow plates, I layered my pink cabbage plates over my clear pink plates. I use my Blue Willow for almost everything, but I felt this layout called for something simpler.

I added my favorite gold bamboo silverware from Amazon. I also layered on my Pioneer Woman cobalt drinking glasses. I tucked a beautiful paper napkin under each salad plate. My centerpiece was my favorite swan vase filled with faux blue hydrangeas.

I love how this look came together! If you are inspired to create your own outdoor soiree, be sure to follow @Lauren_Rose_Home on Instagram and tag me in your pics!

Design, thrifting, and entertaining are my passion, and I share that passion with you through this blog. I also love being in the kitchen and crafting cocktails. I love Jesus and occasionally, I talk about him too. He has been so powerful in my life, and I love to bring him glory with my hobbies.
