This butterfly bedroom is everything a little girl could want! With its pastel color palette of greens, pinks, and purples and unique touches, this room is something my daughter is proud to show visitors.

Our house has two bedrooms beside the master suite. There’s a tiny bedroom and a normal sized one. When my 5-month-old was born, we set up the nursery in the larger room so that I could sleep in a twin bed next to his crib.
But eventually we realized that giving our daughter the larger room would work out better. She can fit her toys in there, which gives us more space in the living room. So we swapped their bedrooms and gave our daughter’s room a makeover.

Her room is butterfly-themed. For people who normally thrift, we put a lot of Ikea furniture in his room. We have the Strandmon wingback chair and ottoman. Draped over the chair is an afghan that was gifted to our daughter as a baby. The butterfly pillow was something I hand made for her.

The desk is an Ikea Linnmon desk that we added a skirt to. My goal was to make this look like a romantic vintage vanity. The ottoman that goes with this was a DIY project. For more details on the desk project, view the blog post on how we transformed the Linnmon desk.

The bed is an Ikea Minnon toddler bed in pink. This bed adjusts to fit a toddler mattress or a full sized twin mattress. Since this room was bigger than her previous room, we were able to give her a twin mattress. She loves snuggling in this bed with her dollies as she falls asleep at night. On her bed is a butterfly quilt that my sister made for her, along with a few other blankets.
The hot pink curtains were an Amazon find. They are gorgeous velvet and such a lovely shade of pink. I used to hang them in the living room, but I liked them better in her room.

Her wall collage contains an Amazing Grace plaque gifted by a friend, a butterfly shadowbox that I made for her (get the butterfly shadowbox tutorial to make your own), a thrifted letter A, a butterfly she painted, and few other framed items that came from her previous room.

The purple rocking chair was a thrift flip. I bought the chair for $1 at a yard sale, fixed it up, and painted it purple. Here you can get more details about this child’s rocking chair thrift flip.

Her toys are stored in the Ikea Kallax shelf unit, and then next to that is her dollhouse. This dollhouse was made for me by my grandfather, and I am proud to pass it down to her.

There are two butterfly hooks hanging by her door. I thrifted these and then painted them to match her room.

Finally, there is a crystal chandelier that I handmade for her from an broken crystal lamp. I love this piece and the glamour that it adds to her room.
I hope you enjoyed this little tour! If you’re interested, you can view the previous butterfly room tour to see what her room was like before the switch.
